Local Emerging Artist Platform (LEAP)
Local Emerging Artists Program (LEAP) program is a special initiative designed by the Turner Ballroom Preservation Trust to link Milwaukee’s emerging arts community to what is often the missing element for small-scale, independent, young or under-funded arts groups: venue and rehearsal space. LEAP is open to individual artists, performance groups or collaboratives looking to produce an art or cultural event (visual art, performance, dance, theater, film or multi-media, etc).
Turner Hall Ballroom and in-house equipment is made available to selected applicants on a sliding fee scale based on need. If you feel that you are an Emerging Artist and would like to be considered for the program, please fill out a LEAP application form.
The goals of the LEAP program are to:
• Enhance Milwaukee’s image as a creative and vibrant city
• Expose Milwaukee and surrounding communities to a diversity of performances
• Provide venue space for underserved or underrepresented artists
• Expose a new and diverse generation to Turner Hall
• Increase awareness of the grand two-story ballroom as a valuable civic and historic landmark
